Job description

Overview

The Assistant Store Manager at True Religion's Vaughan Mills location plays a crucial leadership role, supporting the Store Manager in achieving strong sales performance, operational excellence, and delivering outstanding customer experiences. This position is key on the sales floor, managing daily operations, coaching the team, and maintaining the brand's standards. The Assistant Store Manager also takes charge when the Store Manager is absent, ensuring continuity in team motivation and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve store KPIs such as sales targets, payroll management, customer conversion rates, and shrink control while upholding operational and visual merchandising standards.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as assigned, leading shifts with clear expectations and cultivating a positive and efficient store atmosphere.
  • Maintain effective communication by clarifying daily priorities, goals, and expectations, and supporting open, respectful team interactions.
  • Provide continuous coaching, training, and feedback to associates to foster their development, engagement, and performance.
  • Take ownership of planning workloads, staff scheduling, and floor activities to meet the store’s operational requirements.
  • Utilize sound judgment to resolve challenges promptly, support loss prevention initiatives, and ensure safety practices are followed.
  • Promote True Religion's sales culture by leading through example and coaching in real-time to enhance customer service.
  • Support payroll control, scheduling, policy adherence, and overall compliance with company procedures.
  • Ensure the sales floor and stockroom meet high standards of visual merchandising, organization, and inventory accuracy.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support store operations.

Minimum Experience & Qualifications

  • At least 1 to 3 years of retail supervisory or management experience in specialty or fashion retail environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven capability to support store KPIs like sales, payroll, and shrink management.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills with a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Experience with visual merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention protocols.
  • Adept at managing fast-paced, high-volume retail operations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn retail technology systems.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage range: CAD 23 to CAD 24.50 per hour for this full-time, non-exempt position. Final pay is influenced by experience, skills, and equity considerations.

Physical Requirements & Work Schedule

  • Must be capable of physical activities such as standing for long periods, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
