Role Overview
The Assistant Relationship Manager will provide essential support to Relationship Managers in handling client relationships and portfolio management within a private banking environment. This position involves acting as a primary point of contact for client service inquiries, transaction processing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist Relationship Managers daily in managing client portfolios and relationships.
- Serve as the main contact for client service requests, transactions, and account-related issues.
- Process client instructions such as account openings, fund transfers, securities trades, foreign exchange, and other banking operations.
- Liaise with internal departments including Operations, Compliance, KYC/CDD, Credit, and Product Specialists to resolve client requests promptly.
- Prepare and organize materials for client meetings, including portfolio reviews, investment proposals, and presentation decks.
- Ensure completion of client documentation, account maintenance, and Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews following regulatory standards.
- Track and follow up on any outstanding client documentation and periodic account assessments.
- Assist Relationship Managers in identifying opportunities for asset expansion, revenue growth, and client acquisition.
- Maintain precise records within customer relationship management (CRM) and internal banking systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Have 2 to 8 years of relevant experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management, Priority Banking, or client servicing roles.
- Good understanding of private banking products, processes, and regulatory obligations such as KYC and Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
- Excellent communication skills and strong ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of an additional Asian language like Mandarin or Japanese is beneficial depending on market coverage.
- Detail-oriented and capable of performing well in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience supporting markets such as Southeast Asia, South Asia, North Asia, or Greater China.
- Familiarity with account opening procedures, documentation evaluation, and transaction processing.
- A client-focused approach combined with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with senior bankers and cross-functional teams.
