Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager - Security is entrusted with implementing and managing security operations in accordance with the overall safety strategy. This position entails conducting risk evaluations, enforcing mitigation policies, supervising patrol and monitoring activities, controlling access, and protecting organizational assets to ensure a secure operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in synchronizing daily security activities with the company's strategic objectives, providing operational feedback to enhance security planning.
- Support the rollout and compliance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to security operations, ensuring process effectiveness.
- Engage actively in site patrols and operate CCTV monitoring systems to maintain vigilance and document security incidents.
- Manage access control procedures rigorously, identifying and reporting any procedural discrepancies to leadership.
- Oversee visitor access by managing issuance and tracking of entry cards to ensure secure visitor movement.
- Monitor and secure business-related traffic and cargo operations by verifying vehicle and shipment authorizations using technologies such as GPS and RFID tags.
- Provide assistance in emergency response activities during crises or incidents, adhering to established protocols while handling exceptions.
- Stay updated with modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence advancements to improve operational efficiencies and competitiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal security officers, security personnel, and southern zonal teams.
- Coordinate with external agencies including law enforcement bodies and security service vendors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in security operations focusing on access control, patrol duties, and emergency preparedness is essential.
