Work Schedule and Location

This part-time position follows a weekly schedule of 33.5 hours, with shifts on Monday and Tuesday from 1:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and Wednesday through Friday from 2:00 AM to 9:00 AM. The role is based at 1 Cuddy Court, London, Ontario.

Role Overview

The AM Sorter plays a critical role in sorting and segregating freight based on destination, weight, size, and shape to align with client delivery timetables.

Key Duties

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto conveyor belts and vice versa.
• Offload freight from conveyors or chutes for load-out.
• Load freight into linehaul or cube trucks and trailers.
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles.
• Manually handle bulk or items that cannot be conveyed.
• Scan all shipped or received mail and packages, identifying incorrectly sorted or priority/winter delivery items.

Experience and Qualifications

This role does not require specialized education or prior experience.

Skills and Physical Requirements

• Experience or familiarity with distribution center operations is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including sorting, reaching, standing, and lifting or lowering items up to 70 pounds.
• Manual dexterity for handling packages effectively.
• Proficient English communication skills are essential due to frequent interactions with stakeholders.

Compensation

The starting wage is $21.26 per hour.
