Aircraft Tradesperson - Level 4 Qualified

About the Role

The Christchurch Engine Centre is seeking several qualified Level 4 Aircraft Tradespeople on a permanent full-time basis to contribute to the development of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for Pratt & Whitney's GTF™ engine in New Zealand. Candidates with backgrounds in aviation, mechanical, heavy diesel, automotive, electrical, or related trades are encouraged to apply. This role requires working onsite in Christchurch, NZ.

Working Hours

This position involves a full-time rotating fortnightly shift schedule: one week of day shifts from 7:00am to 3:30pm, followed by one week of night shifts from 3:45pm to 12:15am. Availability for overtime work, which is compensated accordingly, is also appreciated.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly or disassembly tasks at allocated workstations after induction training completion.
• Utilize tools, machinery, and equipment to conduct detailed engine assembly, disassembly, inspection, and maintenance.
• Execute engine work following manufacturer manuals and customer-specific instructions.
• Precisely interpret engine manuals and rigorously adhere to work procedures to maintain quality and safety.
• Meet deadlines and milestones to deliver engines timely for testing and customer return without compromising safety or quality.
• Conduct SAP transactions accurately and update work orders as required.
• Keep meticulous records of all maintenance activities in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all tasks comply fully with health and safety guidelines.

Candidate Profile

• Trade qualification at NZQA Level 4 or an equivalent credential.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately follow technical instructions and processes.
• Physical capability to perform demanding tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, and twisting.
• High levels of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Dedication to safety, quality, and compliance in all aspects of work.
• Flexibility for rotating day and night shifts along with overtime availability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in Engine MRO or aerospace sector.
• Competence in reading and understanding technical drawings and engine manuals.
