Role Overview

Reporting to the Junior Content Strategist, the Sport Writer’s main focus is producing compelling copy for various Sports Direct platforms. This includes crafting thoughtful long-form articles for Sports Direct’s content hub, The Zone, alongside creating engaging campaign content supporting strategic channels. The role demands close collaboration with the broader Content Team to meet deadlines and fuel traffic growth to The Zone.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed, long-form editorial pieces aligned with the strategic content plan.
• Source appropriate imagery, compose articles, and ensure timely publication of content.
• Apply SEO best practices, including conducting keyword research and structuring content for optimal search engine performance.
• Develop copy for diverse campaign channels such as CRM, paid social media, out-of-home advertising, and retail communications.
• Coordinate with Senior and Junior Content Strategists to manage content calendars across essential sports categories like football, running, training, and outdoor activities.
• Leverage AI tools effectively to enhance content creation output.
