Worship Musician

Role Overview

This part-time contract role supports worship services at USAG Rheinland-Pfalz in Kaiserslautern and the Landstuhl Chapel. The musician is expected to contribute live music for regular services, rehearsals, and special faith-based events.

Core Duties

• Deliver musical accompaniment for worship gatherings, rehearsals, and other religious occasions as needed.
• Play service pieces such as preludes, interludes, offertories, and postludes when requested.
• Support congregational singing, choirs, solo performers, and worship teams.
• Join planned rehearsals, including at least one hour when participation is required.
• Be in place no later than 30 minutes before each service to prepare and complete sound checks.
• Work with the Master Musician Coordinator and worship leaders to align song choices, tempo, and musical style.

Minimum Qualifications

• Skilled in piano, keyboard, or another suitable instrument.
• Able to read and perform from sheet music and/or chord charts.
• Background accompanying vocalists or performing with ensembles.
• Comfortable taking direction and working closely with worship staff and teams.
• Dependable, consistent, and punctual.

Preferred Background

• Prior experience in worship, church, or religious service music settings.
• Ability to perform across multiple styles, including traditional, contemporary, and liturgical music.
• Experience supporting choirs or instrumental/vocal ensembles.

Additional Information

This role is a part-time contract engagement and is expected to be performed onsite. The position supports worship services at USAG Rheinland-Pfalz, Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl Chapel.
