About the Role
This hands-on welding specialist position is ideal for individuals with mechanical curiosity and skills. Located in Mt Wellington, Auckland, it offers meaningful engagement in diverse industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing and distribution units to manage orders effectively and provide timely delivery updates to customers.
- Accurately receive, validate, and process customer orders following Motion's welding process standards compliant with ASME IX.
- Perform welding, assembly, and testing of hoses according to customer specifications, maintaining comprehensive test documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage workshop inventory and ensure prompt servicing and repair of equipment such as pumps and reels.
- Monitor and verify job costings to ensure accuracy and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Use various hose assembly techniques, including hydraulic crimping and TIG welding of stainless steel components.
- Inspect final products for compliance with all specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with customers and internal teams, delivering courteous and respectful service.
- Participate in training programs and support colleagues to provide outstanding customer service.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Adherence to Motion Australia's policies including Code of Conduct and Drug & Alcohol Policy, promoting a safe workplace consistent with OSH guidelines.
- Trade qualification with demonstrable experience in stainless steel TIG welding and purging, along with basic lathe operation and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred; possession of a forklift license is advantageous. A full and current driver’s license is required for inter-branch travel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to maintain positive internal and external relationships.
- Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating energy, initiative, teamwork, collaboration, respect, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
