Job Overview
The Welcome Office Manager supports the Front Office Manager in coordinating daily front office operations including Bell/Door Staff, Switchboard, and Guest Services/Front Desk, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes to maximize guest satisfaction and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front office activities to meet customer expectations while maintaining service quality and operational standards.
- Set priorities and organize daily plans to achieve work objectives effectively.
- Address and resolve guest complaints and staff conflicts professionally.
- Manage staffing to satisfy guest service requirements, operational demands, and financial targets.
- Maintain open, ongoing communication with employees to convey business goals, set expectations, and acknowledge achievements.
- Understand the department's impact on overall hotel finances and strive to meet or surpass financial goals.
- Lead and motivate the front desk team through clear communication, integrity, and example-setting.
- Foster a cooperative and respectful team environment and ensure collaborative relationships.
- Supervise employees and stand in for Front Office or Assistant Front Office Manager as needed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by anticipating guest needs, coaching staff, and handling guest issues promptly.
- Implement customer recognition programs and ensure adherence to credit and sales policies.
- Manage daily front desk operations, ensuring compliance with all standard policies and procedures.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and addressing employee concerns in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Assist in hiring, employee orientation, and participate in progressive disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with all levels of staff and management to keep everyone informed and aligned.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of experience in guest services, front desk, or related professional roles; or
- Hold a two-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related fields with no prior work experience required.
