Role Overview
As a Ways of Working Coach at NZ Post, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing how the organization delivers value by fostering alignment, prioritization, and decision-making through innovative working practices. About the Position
Reporting to the Head of Ways of Working, you will work closely with executives including Value Stream Leaders, Domain Leads, and Business Unit Heads to elevate organizational planning, delivery, and prioritization effectiveness. This influential role combines coaching expertise and facilitation to help leaders and teams convert strategy into action, concentrate on crucial objectives, and consistently add value for our customers and business.
By applying systems-thinking principles alongside data analysis and observational insights, you will identify bottlenecks and organizational constraints, accelerating sustainable change. The role requires partnering with various business units such as value streams, platforms, centers of excellence, and support functions to build capabilities, lessen complexity, and embed contemporary working practices that enhance agility, adaptability, and performance supporting NZ Post’s future growth.
Main Duties
- Work alongside senior leaders and their teams to enhance organizational effectiveness and delivery outcomes.
- Lead prioritization, planning, and OKR management that aligns efforts to strategic goals.
- Develop effective planning and performance routines fostering alignment, transparency, and accountability, while addressing impediments affecting workflow and value delivery.
- Coach leadership and teams to embrace new work methods for improved collaboration and successful outcomes.
- Leverage data and insights to propose actionable improvements with measurable benefits.
- Improve cooperation across teams, functions, and value streams to strengthen alignment and execution.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Ways of Working Coach, Organizational Effectiveness expert, or Transformation professional passionate about enabling leaders and teams to excel. You will possess the credibility and influence needed to engage senior leadership, navigate complex environments, and drive substantial change within collaborative cultures.
You are naturally inquisitive, taking interest in how work processes unfold and identifying practical improvements. You thrive on turning innovative ideas into concrete results. Comfortable coaching executives and facilitating impactful discussions, you skilfully use data for decision-making. Your commercial awareness and pragmatic attitude focus on sustainable solutions that deliver significant customer and business impact.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and teams toward better organizational performance and delivery in complex settings.
- Advanced executive and senior leadership coaching skills.
- Expert knowledge of systems thinking, contemporary work methodologies, Lean principles, and continuous improvement, applied pragmatically.
- Strong influence skills to facilitate change without direct authority.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement expertise.
- Commercial insight with a dedication to customer and business results.
- Proven experience enhancing organizational workflow, throughput, and delivery efficiency.
- Proficiency in using data and analytics to inform and improve decision-making.
Preferred qualifications include coaching certifications and experience in organizational transformation, operating model evolution, and enterprise-wide change initiatives.
