Water Regulations Officer

Overview

The Water Regulations and Standards Section plays a key role under the Water Act 2007 and the Water Regulations 2008 by leading and overseeing the collection, management, and dissemination of national water information. Acting as a regulator, the Bureau partners with water data providers and users to facilitate efficient data sharing, reduce regulatory burdens, and enhance public access to important water information. It serves as a national and independent authority cooperating across jurisdictions to support water reform and drive the standardization of water data.

Role Purpose

The Water Regulations Officer assists in administering the Commonwealth Water Regulations 2008 and the national water information standards, ensuring the governance of Australia's water data supports informed decision-making and benefits the community with accurate impacts.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
