Warehouse Operative (Team Leader)

Overview

This position offers a permanent full-time opportunity at DHL Supply Chain, working within a unique warehouse environment located inside HMP Wymott Prison, Preston, UK. The role involves overseeing warehouse activities that support the HMPPS Canteen Service, facilitating offenders to purchase approved products such as food and toiletries. Candidates will need to successfully undergo enhanced security vetting due to the sensitive location.

Daily Duties

• Lead and collaborate with offenders in executing warehouse operational tasks.
• Engage in manual activities like picking, packing, and handling items weighing up to 20kg.
• Maintain accurate stock records and ensure smooth daily operations.
• Operate efficiently and maintain organization under time pressure.
• Work cohesively with the team to meet warehouse performance targets.

Candidate Profile

• Must have a UK address history of at least 3 years to qualify for security clearance.
• Capable of confidently working inside a prison setting alongside offenders.
• Physically active and willing to perform hands-on warehouse tasks.

• Possession of a full UK driving licence and access to personal transportation is required.

Working Conditions & Benefits

• Standard workweek Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30, totaling 40 hours, with occasional weekend work as needed.
