Vocational Skill Trainer - Tailoring and Garment Construction

Role Purpose

This position involves delivering high-quality vocational training in tailoring and garment construction. The objective is to equip trainees with practical and theoretical skills essential for employment or self-employment in the apparel industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct both hands-on and classroom sessions covering tailoring, garment construction, pattern making, cutting, stitching, finishing, alterations, and machinery operation.
• Create detailed lesson plans aligned with approved curricula and standards set by Skill India/SSC.
• Instruct trainees in safe operation and upkeep of sewing machines, cutting instruments, and related equipment.
• Evaluate trainee progress using practical tests, assignments, and regular assessments.
• Maintain comprehensive trainee records including attendance, assessments, and training documentation.
• Enforce discipline, punctuality, and proper use of training materials and facilities.
• Offer guidance on career development, entrepreneurship, and employability skills.
• Assist with placement efforts, industry visits, and counselling for trainees.
• Ensure the workshop remains orderly, safe, and clean at all times.
• Engage in community outreach, mobilization initiatives, and relevant centre activities as needed.
• Provide regular progress reports to supervisors such as Centre Head or Skills Head.
