Vice President of Operations

Position Summary

A private equity-backed provider of home health and private duty nursing services is looking for a senior operations leader to guide and expand its Georgia business. Reporting to the CEO, this role oversees several locations and is responsible for improving operational performance, financial results, regulatory adherence, and clinical standards across the region.

Operational Leadership

• Direct all Georgia home health and private duty operations across multiple sites.
• Coach, support, and develop Branch Administrators and other operational leaders.
• Build scalable workflows, systems, and best practices that improve consistency and efficiency.
• Use performance measures, scorecards, and regular operating reviews to drive accountability.
• Promote a mindset of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Financial Performance

• Own branch-level financial results, including revenue growth, cost control, and EBITDA delivery.
• Work with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation.
• Identify and implement actions that strengthen profitability while preserving high-quality patient care.
• Track essential operating measures such as census growth, admissions, recertifications, productivity, and labor utilization.

Growth and Strategy

• Lead organic growth through market expansion and stronger referral development.
• Assist with acquisition efforts, including operational due diligence, integration planning, and post-close execution.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning and market positioning across Georgia.
• Help establish the operational foundation needed for future expansion.

Clinical and Compliance Leadership

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private-pay rules.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to support strong patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Maintain survey readiness and perform well during audits and regulatory reviews.
• Balance growth objectives with quality standards and compliance expectations.

People and Culture

• Shape a high-performance culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and patient-focused care.
• Lead talent development, succession planning, and retention efforts across operations.
• Partner with Human Resources on staffing plans, engagement, and organizational development.
• Develop future leaders and strengthen management capability across the organization.

Key Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be evaluated based on EBITDA performance against budget, revenue and census growth, start-of-care and recertification results, labor cost management, clinical quality and survey outcomes, employee retention and engagement, and the ability to integrate and scale operations effectively.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA, MHA, or another advanced degree is preferred.
• A clinical background is helpful but not mandatory.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in home health, private duty, post-acute care, or multi-site healthcare services is required.
• Proven success managing P&L performance and improving EBITDA is necessary.
• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, reimbursement structures, and healthcare regulations is required.
• Experience in private equity-backed, acquisitive, or other high-growth environments is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead dispersed teams and scale operations across multiple locations is required.
