Role Overview

We are looking for a Vice President of Group Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sites. Reporting to the President of MRO Services and based in Medley, FL, this executive will ensure alignment of facility operations with corporate goals, foster team development, and enhance cross-functional effectiveness. Frequent travel to all MRO locations is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all MRO operations, aligning strategies with business plans and long-term growth goals.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that promote safety, quality, turnaround time (TAT), customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of multiple MRO facilities, ensuring consistent maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification services while promoting operational excellence.
  • Hold P&L accountability including budgeting, controlling costs, allocating resources, capital planning, and enhancing financial performance.
  • Work in partnership with Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, HR, and other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement efforts to optimize productivity and quality.
  • Standardize operational protocols, performance measurements, and KPIs across facilities, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation standards including FAA, EASA, AS9110, ISO, SMS, and internal governance policies.
  • Lead the Safety Management System (SMS) program to promote risk management, hazard reporting, safety monitoring, and a proactive safety culture.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing leadership team fostering succession planning, workforce development, and employee engagement.
  • Enhance organizational culture by encouraging collaboration, accountability, and ongoing learning aligned with company values.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with airlines, OEMs, leasing firms, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure superior customer service and partnership longevity.
  • Guarantee service excellence through timely delivery, responsiveness, and effective resolution of customer issues including corrective actions.
  • Support business development through client engagements, proposal preparation, RFP responses, and integration of new contracts.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives to adapt to customer needs, market shifts, and business priorities.
  • Assess facility needs related to capacity, infrastructure, equipment, tooling, and lead capital investments, automation, and expansions to facilitate growth.
  • Oversee business continuity, risk management, and crisis response planning to handle supply chain, labor, regulatory, and operational challenges.
  • Act as senior operational leader during critical incidents to drive decision-making and recovery processes.
  • Provide executive leadership with regular data-driven operational and financial performance reports to support strategy and improvements.
  • Fulfill other senior leadership duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of advancing leadership experience in operations, ideally within aerospace or manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple operations, large teams, implement operational initiatives, and manage complex workflows.
