The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Business Development to lead and execute impactful growth strategies that expand OpenWorks' advanced counter-UAS technology into new markets across North America. This role offers full ownership of the business development cycle — from strategic planning to securing major contracts and influencing the adoption of cutting-edge defence and security solutions.
As a pivotal growth driver, you will collaborate closely with end users, partners, and internal teams to transform concepts into successful initiatives and build lasting profitable relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of business-winning strategies and campaigns to secure new contracts and expand presence in North America
- Manage opportunities from initial concept through to profitable execution to ensure sustainable market growth
- Oversee preparation of compelling bids, proposals, and value propositions that resonate with customers
- Collaborate effectively with strategic partners
- Represent OpenWorks in presentations, expert panels, demonstrations, and one-on-one meetings
- Travel as required across North America for customer and partner engagement
- Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with US and international regulations
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven autonomy and effectiveness in all facets of business development
- Extensive experience in the defense and security sectors, with solid knowledge of multi-domain defence applications and counter-UAS solutions
- Demonstrated success in developing profitable business campaigns and generating sales
- Creative and proactive in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities
- Dedicated to continual improvement of sales and business development processes
- Excellent communicator capable of clearly explaining complex technical information to non-technical audiences
- Willingness to travel and represent the company in customer and supplier interactions, including support for systems integration
- Confident presenting to senior stakeholders across industry, government, and military arenas
- Strong relationship-building skills to fully understand and meet client needs
- Valid full driving license
- Ability to obtain or currently hold security clearance

- Military background or prior defense sector experience
- Familiarity with electro-optics and counter-UAS technologies
- Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience
- Existing connections with leading authorities and industry integrators
