Utility Worker

Job Location and Schedule

Position based at Providence Academy, Johnson City, TN. Work shifts vary with days and hours depending on operational needs; candidates with open availability are preferred. Additional shift details will be provided during the interview.

Position Overview

As a Utility Worker with Sodexo, you will play a crucial role in supporting kitchen and facility operations by ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and organized food production and service areas. This role involves cleaning equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage spaces, as well as managing supplies and assisting with setup and cleanup tasks as needed.

Primary Duties

• Manually wash dishes or operate dishwashing machinery.
• Sanitize work surfaces including tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors thoroughly.
• Collect and transport trash and garbage to designated disposal locations.
• Use specialized chemicals to clean and maintain equipment per sanitation standards.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning agents.
• Perform significant walking and be physically mobile throughout the shift.
• Stand or walk for extended periods, often exceeding 8 hours.
• Frequently bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and lift items weighing up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Adhere to punctual attendance and dependability standards.
• Carry out other duties based on the needs of different accounts or client requirements.

Qualifications

• Possess a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in this field is not necessary.
• Understand basic sanitation procedures and foundational food safety principles.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage ranges from $12.00 to $15.00.
