Position Overview
We have immediate openings for Unskilled Meat Workers in Warrnambool, Victoria. No prior meat processing experience is required. This opportunity is within a stable and supportive work environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Pack meat into boxes or plastic bags for shipment.
- Organise carcasses and cartons into refrigerators, freezers, and shipping containers, including manual lifting tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness of slaughter floors and boning rooms using shovels and brooms.
- Support removal of hides and fore & hind hocks from carcasses using both manual and mechanical methods.
- Secure a shackle chain around cattle rear legs and lift forelegs into the slaughter chain cleats.
- Use knives to remove animal tails.
- Assemble cartons by folding pre-cut cardboard and inserting plastic liners.
Skills and Requirements
- Must be dependable, physically capable, and eager to contribute as part of a team.
- Comprehension of the importance of hygiene, precision, and adherence to procedures.
- Legal authorization to work full-time in Australia (38 hours per week).
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol testing and willingness to undergo pre-employment medical examinations if necessary.
- Possession of a Q Fever vaccination or willingness to receive the vaccination.
