Officially registered as a Money Services Business with FINTRAC and recognized under the Bank of Canada's Retail Payment Activities Act, Korrency prioritizes treasury and operational integrity at the core of all transactions.
Position Overview
As a Treasury Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for the comprehensive daily management of customer funds, ensuring all payment corridors are adequately funded, settlements are processed without issue, and financial records reconcile flawlessly. This role requires a seasoned, autonomous operator willing to develop and refine treasury operations processes as the company expands into new markets. This position offers a direct pathway to a Treasury Operations Manager or Lead role as the team grows.

- Oversee foreign exchange and currency positions while mitigating risks during transactions and settlements, ensuring pricing accuracy and defensibility.
- Identify and maintain reliable sources of FX and local currency payout liquidity, managing partnerships, and negotiating cost-effective, timely executions.
- Coordinate settlement execution with banking and payout partners, ensuring all transactions meet rate approvals, deadlines, and value terms and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Own the reconciliation processes linking internal ledgers, wallet balances, bank statements, and partner records, investigating and eliminating inconsistencies to avoid repetitive errors.
- Manage multi-bank relationships including account operations, payment initiations, confirmations, and monitoring balances for risk identification.
- Maintain and implement safeguarding controls complying with Bank of Canada and RPAA obligations to ensure correct and auditable fund movements.
- Collaborate with Engineering on ledger migration projects to automate reconciliation tasks, build essential reports, and uphold daily cash and liquidity monitoring to guide financial decisions.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum five years of direct experience in treasury operations, cash management, payment settlements, or payments operations, specifically involving liquidity, foreign exchange, and reconciliation tasks.
- Demonstrated expertise handling liquidity across multiple currencies and banking/payout relationships.
- Strong knowledge of settlement cycles, foreign exchange workflows, and reconciliation methodologies with an ability to detect and resolve transactional discrepancies.
- Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets with familiarity or willingness to learn SQL for transaction-level data analysis.
- Keen attention to detail coupled with a rigorous approach to controls and custodianship of customer funds.
- Independent judgment and proactive management capabilities suitable for a rapidly evolving, early-stage company.
- Excellent communication skills and systematic documentation practices for coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Hands-on background in consumer-to-consumer cross-border payments or remittance systems, notably in African market corridors.
- Knowledge of Canadian MSB/AML regulatory frameworks, including FINTRAC and the Retail Payment Activities Act.
- Experience in treasury system or ledger migration projects.
- Academic or professional credentials in accounting or finance, such as an accounting designation or a quantitative degree.
