Transport Shift Controller - Nights

About the Role

Join DHL Supply Chain, the world's leader in logistics, as a Transport Shift Controller working night shifts. Based in Burton on Trent (DE14 1PT), you'll be pivotal in driver dispatch and operational administration to keep delivery routes running smoothly.

Daily Responsibilities

• Organize and dispatch drivers ensuring optimal route coverage.
• Handle incoming calls mainly from drivers seeking assistance or updates.
• Maintain communication with internal teams and external clients to resolve issues.
• Perform general operational and administrative duties supporting shift activities.
• Assist with driver debriefs, including reviewing completed routes and addressing any problems.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in transport or related sectors.
• Able to thrive in fast-paced environments managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with drivers and customers confidently.
• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member.
• Flexible with shift hours and prepared to support operational requirements beyond standard schedules.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This full-time permanent role operates Monday to Friday from 22:00 to 06:00 with some flexibility to cover other times as needed. The base salary is £27,604 annually with overtime paid at 1.5 times the base rate.
