Trainee Branch Manager - Blackpool, Co Cork

Role Overview

This is a permanent, full-time development opportunity designed to prepare the right person for future branch leadership. The position is based in Blackpool, Cork, and follows a 39-hour week, Monday to Friday, plus alternate Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

What the Role Involves

You will support the everyday running of the branch while developing the capabilities needed to manage one yourself in the future. The position includes exposure to sales, operations, stock control, customer service and team leadership.

You may also be asked to cover for branch managers, support new store launches, help with refurbishments and contribute to wider business initiatives.

Key Duties

• Assist with the smooth running of branch operations in line with company processes
• Step in and provide temporary cover for branch managers when needed
• Support the opening of new branches and refurbishment activity
• Help oversee stock levels, control and overall stock management
• Review sales activity and performance using internal systems such as K8 and Phocas
• Contribute to profitability, margin protection and cost management
• Support merchandising and local marketing activity in the branch
• Build positive relationships with customers and deliver a high standard of service
• Assist in training and developing colleagues
• Promote and maintain health and safety compliance
• Keep administration accurate and handle customer enquiries promptly

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 1 year’s sales experience in a trade or customer-facing setting
• Clear communication and strong organisational ability
• Self-motivated approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable using IT tools such as Excel, email and business systems
• Full clean driving licence, with willingness to travel

Preferred Background

• Previous supervisory or training experience
• Knowledge of heating and plumbing products
• Experience using ERP or CRM platforms
• Commercial awareness and a strong focus on results
