Position Summary
This role involves aligning trade marketing efforts by utilizing analytical tools to spot new strategic opportunities and updating sales plans to boost sales and profitability in designated areas. This is a hybrid role requiring up to 20% travel across various US states including California, Texas, Arizona, Illinois, and New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, develop, and implement strategies for Category, Trade, and Shopper initiatives within assigned territories.
- Generate departmental and category insights to maximize promotional share, distribution, and product placement.
- Analyze potential growth within categories and propose new business avenues.
- Assess campaign outcomes and suggest strategic improvements.
- Prepare detailed category reports and execute initiatives working collaboratively with stakeholders such as Revenue Management, Category Management, and Field Sales teams.
- Implement Trade Marketing tactics, monitor budgets, communicate progress, and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least two years in trade marketing, brand management, or a similar role.
- Preferred: One year experience as a broker or sales analyst.
- Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience managing Profit & Loss statements is preferred.
- Familiarity with database management using SQL, ACCESS, or similar systems.
- Previous experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods sector is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of category management processes and related applications.
- Experience using SAP, BW Analyzer, and High Jump software.
- Understanding of consumption databases such as Nielsen.
- Strong business acumen with financial analysis capabilities, enabling effective trade management planning and evaluation.
- Capability to recommend solutions based on analysis of data from existing or incomplete systems.
- Effective communication skills at all organizational levels, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting proficiency.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and particularly Excel with expertise in Data Analysis, Pivot tables, and complex graphing.
- Ability to cultivate professional relationships within Trade Marketing and cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Experience working in a matrix organizational structure.
