Role overview
This position in Finance & Assurance focuses on reconciliation, control testing, accounting review, and audit support. The role is suited to someone who can work across reporting, compliance, and operational finance activities while coordinating with internal teams and auditors.
Key responsibilities
- Compile monthly reconciliation summaries covering bank versus cashbook, loan book versus general ledger, collection accounts, vendor balances, and inter-company balances for management review.
- Track open items through ageing reports and work on closing them within the required turnaround time.
- Examine manual journal entries to confirm that supporting documents, approvals, and accounting treatment are appropriate.
- Help validate the correct recording of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
- Check accruals and provisions to make sure they are complete and properly supported.
- Carry out sample testing of important financial controls such as maker-checker controls, approval levels, cut-off checks, and access permissions.
- Assess whether documented controls are functioning effectively and retain evidence for review.
- Keep a tracker of actions taken to close control gaps highlighted by internal or statutory audits.
- Support the review of trial balance schedules for completeness and internal consistency in line with Ind AS and IGAAP requirements.
- Assist in validating provisions using historical patterns and trend analysis.
- Run standard exception reports to flag duplicate payments, unusual reimbursements, and vendor spending spikes.
- Conduct regular vendor master checks for issues such as duplicate GSTIN, PAN, IFSC, or email details.
- Cross-check significant payments against purchase order or contract references and escalate mismatches.
- Promptly report suspicious or unusual transactions.
- Coordinate with Financial Reporting, Expense, and Operations teams for reconciliations and provide information on time to both internal and statutory auditors.
