Role Overview
We are seeking a Tier 1 Support Specialist to be part of our VA.gov Platform team. This role serves as the initial point of contact ensuring the platform remains dependable, accessible, and stable for Veterans and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for support inquiries received through ticketing tools, email, or chat systems.
- Diagnose and resolve typical issues involving account access, website features, and general platform questions.
- Record incident details, monitor resolution progress, and update relevant stakeholders consistently.
- Refer more complex problems to Tier 2/3 support or engineering teams, providing comprehensive context for smooth resolution.
- Keep an eye on system alerts and proactively identify potential complications before they worsen.
- Maintain and update knowledge base articles, FAQs, and user guides to minimize repeated problems.
- Assist end users as they navigate VA.gov's tools and functionalities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in delivering technical assistance within dynamic settings.
- Proficiency with ticketing platforms such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Zendesk.
- Ability to convey technical concepts effectively to users without technical backgrounds.
- Understanding of web applications, user account management, and standard troubleshooting methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to resolving open tickets.
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment in collaboratively solving user problems in a remote environment.
