Position Overview

This is a permanent part-time support staff role within the bargaining unit. The position reports to the Dean, Global Engagement & Academic Services and requires 24 hours of work per week at an hourly wage of $26.05.

The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical assistance to the Testing Services Department. The role involves managing a wide range of inquiries that require a strong understanding of college policies and procedures, supporting the day-to-day delivery of testing services, coordinating test bookings and administration, and offering technical help with accessibility and assistive tools.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Testing Services team by helping maintain accessibility and accommodation-related testing systems and tools.
  • Respond to student questions about testing needs and coordinate communication related to testing accommodations and supports.
  • Arrange and administer tests for students and the public, including acting as a scribe or reader when required and gathering proctoring instructions from faculty.
  • Assist students with accessibility tools, testing accommodation processes, and specialized learning or assistive software.
  • Help keep office procedures current and organized.
  • Manage a variety of test booking applications for students and members of the public.
  • Coordinate with faculty to ensure accurate information about the testing environment is shared.
  • During busy periods, provide support to Tutoring Services by answering general questions, scheduling tutoring appointments, and directing students to appropriate academic resources.
  • At peak times, assist with tutoring schedules, records, and promotional materials that support program coordination and delivery.
  • During peak periods, support the Academic Materials Coordinator with pop-up shop operations and logistics, including preparing materials, labeling, sorting, assembling kits, maintaining inventory records, and assisting with basic point-of-sale tasks and customer inquiries.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold at least a two-year post-secondary diploma, preferably in Office Administration, Business, Social Science, or another equivalent program accepted by the college.

A minimum of two years of hands-on frontline experience in a customer service or client service environment is required.

Strong working knowledge of computer applications and systems is essential, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.

Experience with ClockWork, case management systems, and student information systems is preferred.

The role also calls for excellent customer service abilities.
