Tender Manager (m/w/d)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Tender Manager to oversee and manage bidding processes within our international freight forwarding company. This role requires coordinating tender submissions, analyzing bids across multiple transport modes (including sea, air, and rail), and working closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality, timely offer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively managing tender processes and associated documentation, including maintaining tender platform operations such as ONE KBP, Transporean, Occon, and iSEAportal.
• Analyzing multi-modal tender requests from diverse sources to identify missing or insufficient details needed for accurate proposals, collaborating with tender origins to retrieve necessary information.
• Evaluating tender opportunities by assessing risks, terms and conditions, liabilities, and complexity to prepare decision support documents regarding profitability and feasibility for the sales team.
• Sharing all pertinent tender information with involved departments (e.g., SDB Germany, SDB Corporate) and coordinating internal cost negotiations and offer preparations by liaising with the internal network.
• Compiling and formatting collected data into a comprehensive offer template, integrating into presentations, and submitting to the responsible sales personnel within deadlines.
• Coordinating cross-functional teams such as air, sea, rail, legal, and QSHE departments to fulfill specific client requirements punctually.
• Maintaining CRM and reporting tools for monitoring and managing business processes effectively.

Requirements

• Completed commercial training or relevant academic degree in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Extensive experience in tender or bid management, preferably in international transport with focus on air and sea freight.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information for targeted documentation.
• Structured and methodical work approach.
• Solid project and stakeholder management expertise.
• Excellent negotiation and assertiveness capabilities.
• High customer orientation with outstanding communication skills in both German and English.
• Proficient in MS Office and capable of handling advanced software systems.
