The position focuses on carrying out both routine and non-routine testing and calibration assignments, while producing accurate results on time and working with limited direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out calibration and dimensional measurement work for gauges and instruments in line with work instructions, using tools such as CMM, reference masters and testers, both on-site and in-house, and prepare the required reports and administrative records.
  • Perform scheduled routine maintenance and calibration for laboratory equipment.
  • Support delivery of services to customers in a reliable and timely manner.
  • Assist the manager in coordinating daily calibration activities in the labs in line with ISO 17025 requirements, including quality control, job planning, job allocation and customer requirements.
  • Take on any additional tasks assigned by the Manager, Section Head or senior team members.

Qualifications and technical requirements

The preferred background includes an ITE, GCE or Diploma qualification in Aerospace, Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Candidates should have 2 to 3 years of practical experience in QC, QA, calibration or testing. A working understanding of technical drawings and GD&T is required, along with the ability to review and organize calibration or testing data. Prior exposure to CMM work is an advantage, and knowledge of ISO 17025 and measurement uncertainty is also beneficial. Strong computer skills and solid basic mathematics, including algebra and geometry, are important for the role.
