About the Role
Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking a dedicated Team Member to join the Parks Infrastructure team in Hervey Bay. This permanent full-time position involves hands-on work constructing and enhancing parks and landscape facilities throughout the Fraser Coast region. The role emphasizes outdoor teamwork, safety adherence, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service to support community betterment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute parks infrastructure and landscaping construction projects following approved plans and specifications.
- Safely operate and maintain Council vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and apply safe work practices in public areas.
- Identify and report hazards, defects, and service concerns promptly.
- Deliver professional customer service while working within community spaces.
- Document work performed, including timesheets and service requests, using Council’s digital systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Queensland Class C or CA Driver Licence.
- General Construction Induction White Card certification.
- Proven experience in delivering parks infrastructure or landscape construction projects.
- Competence in safely operating and maintaining construction tools, plant, and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of WHS policies and safe work procedures.
- Effective communication, teamwork skills, and customer service orientation.
- Ability to use mobile devices and work management software to log work activities and requests.
Desirable Attributes
- Queensland MR Driver Licence.
- Certificate II or III in Landscape Construction, Civil Construction, or related field.
- Relevant plant or construction operation tickets such as skid steer, excavator, loader, or traffic control licenses.
- Current First Aid Certificate.

Terms & Conditions
Position classification: Stream B Level 3 with a salary of $71,780 plus superannuation, including an annualised allowance of $2,789.
