Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Corporate HR team in Calgary, Alberta, on a full-time, permanent basis. This position is critical to supporting Bantrel's HR functions by overseeing complete recruitment cycles for corporate and project teams. The specialist will attract high-quality talent, elevate the candidate experience, and aid strategic workforce planning while advocating for diversity and inclusion throughout recruitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including posting jobs, sourcing and screening candidates, conducting interviews and assessments, completing reference checks, creating offers, and coordinating onboarding.
- Collaborate closely with hiring managers, project leaders, and HR colleagues to understand workforce needs, formulate recruitment strategies, and align hiring initiatives with business goals.
- Oversee staffing requirements for integrated projects via continuous communication with stakeholders to monitor recruitment progress and workforce planning.
- Implement sourcing tactics such as LinkedIn Recruiter, talent mapping, networking, referrals, and campus recruitment to attract qualified applicants.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines to fulfill current and future hiring demands.
- Build and nurture partnerships with post-secondary institutions while leading campus recruitment and early-career hiring programs.
- Coordinate with external recruitment agencies as needed, ensuring they uphold Bantrel’s hiring standards.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all recruitment practices.
- Ensure consistent application of recruitment protocols including screening, interviewing, assessments, reference checks, and documentation.
- Provide expert advice to hiring managers on recruitment processes, labour market insights, candidate availability, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of candidates and recruitment activities within systems like SmartRecruiters and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Analyze recruitment data and KPIs to support workforce planning and ongoing process improvements.
- Assist with the implementation and enhancement of recruitment technologies, including ATS upgrades and AI tools.
- Continuously refine recruitment strategies and candidate experience.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess a bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Have 8 to 10 years of direct experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or similar sectors.
- Demonstrate experience in managing full-cycle recruitment and handling multiple requisitions at once, including talent pipelining.
- Show initiative, adaptability, and ongoing commitment to learning and process improvement to meet evolving workforce demands.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving, organizational, and planning capabilities to balance priorities and drive effective hiring outcomes.
- Possess excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Be proficient with Applicant Tracking Systems (preferably SmartRecruiters) and tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Talent Insights.
- Holding the Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is advantageous.
