About the Role
Space Ops is actively expanding and seeks a motivated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join the Human Resources team onsite in Hamilton, Ontario. This role offers the chance to lead end-to-end recruitment processes for both technical and non-technical positions within a fast-growing environment, collaborating closely with hiring managers and company leaders to support workforce growth and create an engaging candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee complete recruitment cycles including role definition, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and offer management through onboarding.
- Work alongside hiring managers to grasp hiring demands, team dynamics, role specifics, and necessary skills.
- Identify, evaluate, and interview candidates for various technical and non-technical roles, performing competency-based assessments where relevant.
- Arrange interviews and ensure a smooth, positive experience for all candidates.
- Carry out thorough reference and background checks.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with educational institutions to facilitate campus hiring, internships, and early career recruitment.
- Represent Space Ops at recruiting events such as career fairs and networking sessions.
- Maintain recruitment databases, applicant tracking systems, and prepare reports with hiring metrics and updates for leadership.
- Coordinate onboarding processes to guarantee a seamless new hire integration.
- Contribute to other HR and employee-related projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least three years' experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, ideally within technology-driven or rapidly growing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume recruitment across different functions.
- Experience recruiting for technical roles with knowledge of software development lifecycle, cloud systems, infrastructure, and product development.
- Conducting technical and competency evaluations of candidates.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and recruitment software platforms.
- Experience with campus hiring and university collaborations is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Attention to detail and effectiveness in handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to work autonomously with professionalism and high confidentiality.
