Role overview
AKRE & Associates is hiring a seasoned Talent Acquisition Specialist for an on-site role in the East Valley within the Greater Phoenix Area. This position supports a fast-expanding national, multi-location commercial services business and will own end-to-end recruitment efforts.
The role reports to the VP of Human Resources and is expected to help deliver more than 75 hires each year across field operations, leadership, and corporate teams.
Key responsibilities
- Run the complete recruiting cycle from intake through offer and pre-employment stages.
- Work with HR leaders and hiring managers to shape hiring plans and sourcing approaches.
- Juggle several open roles at once while keeping priorities and deadlines on track.
- Find and engage both active job seekers and passive talent.
- Develop candidate pipelines for commercial service and field-based positions.
- Screen candidates, conduct interviews, assess fit, and complete reference checks.
- Create compelling job advertisements and recruitment outreach campaigns.
- Monitor recruiting data such as time-to-fill, sourcing results, and hiring performance.
- Share labor market insights and recruiting progress with leadership.
- Arrange interviews, offers, background verification, and pre-employment steps.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience handling full-cycle recruitment.
- Background in recruiting for commercial services sectors such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical services, equipment rental, facilities services, industrial services, construction services, or similar skilled trades.
- Experience hiring technical, field service, and difficult-to-source talent.
- Capability to manage multiple requisitions in a high-speed environment.
- Strong sourcing ability, relationship management, and candidate engagement skills.
- Comfort working closely with operations leaders and hiring managers.
Preferred experience and tools
- Prior support for a multi-location commercial services organization is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with recruiting platforms and applicant tracking systems.
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, CareerBuilder, and similar sourcing tools.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
- Experience with interview scheduling, background screening, onboarding, and recruiting analytics tools.
