Unit Overview

The Copper Tube Manufacturing unit located in Baroda (Waghodia) is India's first facility dedicated to producing copper tubes and rods, along with copper alloy rods and wires. This initiative aims to boost cost competitiveness in the air conditioning manufacturing sector by nurturing a local component manufacturing ecosystem, supported by the government's Production Linked Incentive scheme covering the entire value chain.

Role Summary

The Jr Engineer / Asst Engineer / Deputy Engineer in Operation & Maintenance and Technical Service will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery involved in copper tube manufacturing, ensuring smooth production, quality compliance, and machinery upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate key equipment like casting machines, rolling and drawing machines, level winders, annealing furnaces, and finishing devices involved in copper tube production.
• Oversee daily production processes to meet targets, identify and resolve abnormalities, and reduce machine downtime, ensuring optimal overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Perform routine quality checks on in-process and finished goods to maintain product standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance including lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs to machinery, ensuring the availability of spare parts for uninterrupted operation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues by diagnosing faults and executing corrective measures.
• Follow stringent safety procedures, including use of protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout protocols during maintenance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of production data, maintenance activities, and quality inspections as per company guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively with production teams, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to resolve issues and achieve production goals.
• Engage in continuous improvement programs by suggesting and implementing process optimizations to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Industry Experience

• Diploma in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferable experience in metals, manufacturing, forging, foundry, rolling, or melting sectors.
