Overview
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts invites applications for the role of Supervisor for Grounds Maintenance at our facility located on Ummahat Island 1, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on overseeing landscaping and grounds maintenance activities while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control of tools, equipment, and materials necessary for grounds maintenance.
- Place orders for new plants, equipment replacements, and supplies within the allocated budget.
- Monitor and record water usage from pumps and wells.
- Perform minor structural repairs manually or with power tools.
- Prepare and apply chemical solutions for pest, weed, and plant disease control, maintaining detailed records of pesticide and fertilizer applications.
- Install, operate, and maintain irrigation systems efficiently.
- Operate tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies.
- Support management in employee recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching, while exemplifying strong leadership.
- Ensure strict compliance with company safety policies and procedures; promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a professional and neat personal appearance and uniform.
- Protect company confidentiality and assets.
- Foster a respectful, supportive work environment and collaborate to meet shared objectives.
- Uphold quality assurance standards and expectations consistently.
- Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, pushing, and placing objects weighing up to 50 lbs (22.5 kg) without assistance.
- Be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- Conduct visual inspections of tools, machinery, and equipment for defects.
- Utilize fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to handle objects of varying sizes and weights.
- Engage in physical movements including reaching above the head, bending at knees and waist, crouching, twisting, crawling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Work safely on uneven, slippery, or inclined surfaces and stairs.
- Use manual dexterity frequently with both hands.
- Perform snow removal and ice maintenance when applicable.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent general education development (GED) certificate.
- Work Experience: Minimum of three years in a similar grounds maintenance role.
- Supervisory Experience: At least three years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Mandatory: Valid driving license is required.
