Role overview
Maynooth University is looking for a Student Recruitment Officer on a specified-purpose basis to support the Admissions and Student Recruitment Office. The role plays an important part in presenting the University to future undergraduates and strengthening the wider admissions and recruitment activity.
About the role
The successful candidate will help create a positive, welcoming, and well-informed experience for prospective students and the people who influence their decisions. This includes building productive relationships with external stakeholders such as guidance counsellors, teachers, school leaders, Colleges of Further Education, parents, and internal colleagues across both academic and administrative teams.

What the role requires
This position suits someone who is highly organised, communicates clearly, and is comfortable managing events and recruitment activity. The University is seeking a candidate who is proactive, adaptable, and focused on providing strong service to prospective students.
Work location and travel
The role is based onsite in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. It includes a requirement to travel across the country and to work outside standard office hours when needed, sometimes at short notice. Weekend work may also be required.
Reporting line
The role reports to the Director of Admissions, or to another person nominated by the University.
Pay and contract terms
Salary is set at Administrative Officer II (2026) scale: €47,387 to €67,129 per annum across 9 points. Appointment will follow public sector pay rules.
