Role overview

This is a hands-on retail support position for someone who likes staying active, working with others, and contributing behind the scenes. As a Retail Store Person, you will help keep store operations running efficiently across the sales floor and back-of-store warehouse. The job combines customer order pickups, stock movement, freight handling, product assembly, and general store support in a busy retail environment.

Key responsibilities

Your day-to-day work will focus on keeping stock flowing smoothly, helping customers collect orders, and maintaining a safe and organised back-of-house area.

• Unload and load weekly trucks and containers carefully and accurately
• Assist customers when they collect orders so the process is smooth and efficient
• Move stock and products to support the retail sales team and shop floor operations
• Receive goods correctly in the store system
• Assemble furniture products with care and attention to detail
• Follow all health and safety requirements at all times
• Keep the store and warehouse clean, orderly, and safe through good housekeeping practices
• Work cooperatively with the team, take initiative, solve problems, and stay effective in a fast-moving environment

Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate is practical, dependable, and comfortable working in a physically active retail environment. You should enjoy varied tasks, be able to communicate well, and bring a positive attitude to team-based work.

• Experience in a similar warehousing or distribution support role
• Basic computer literacy, including email and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• A genuine interest in helping people and achieving results
• Physical ability to safely handle products and manual tasks
• Strong communication skills
• A reliable, committed, proactive, and motivated approach
• Ability to lift, carry, and move furniture and other items of different sizes as part of regular duties

Eligibility and working conditions

Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian residents, or already have the legal right to work in Australia with a valid visa. The role requires a roster that may include any day from Monday through Sunday, as required by the business.
