We are looking for a proactive and meticulous Store & Logistics Officer to join our power plant site in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring operational continuity by managing storekeeping, inventory, and logistics to keep plant maintenance effective and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all storekeeping and logistical functions at the plant.
  • Coordinate with the PCM and logistics teams regarding ordering, shipment, and on-time delivery of spare parts to maintain scheduled maintenance.
  • Inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and invoices for accuracy in quantity, quality, and documentation.
  • Systematically organize, label, and store items to maximize warehouse space and efficiency.
  • Pick, issue, and distribute materials in line with logistics protocols.
  • Maintain updated logistics and inventory data within relevant management systems.
  • Supply inventory data including transfer requests, stock levels, and delivery timelines as needed.
  • Conduct routine administrative duties such as updating stock records and preparing necessary dispatch documentation.
  • Plan and execute logistics movements as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives focusing on quality, safety, delivery, and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure the warehouse adheres to 5S methodology and complies with company safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support for team members in daily storekeeping and logistics tasks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and records of all operational tools onsite, ensuring they are in good condition and ready for use.
  • Manage tool calibration schedules and maintain documentation.
  • Communicate efficiently with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least four years of experience in storekeeping, warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics, ideally within power plants, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industry settings.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, ERP, or warehouse management software is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics procedures.
  • Knowledge of spare parts management and stock optimization strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, along with inventory management platforms.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and record-keeping capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data and generate accurate reports.
  • Awareness of workplace safety standards and 5S principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
