Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Utilize sterile techniques for tissue culture procedures.
• Manage mouse colonies, including genotyping methods proficiency.
• Apply animal husbandry knowledge and adhere to regulations, particularly for tissue collection and processing.
• Analyze large datasets effectively, including clinical databases such as ATLAS.
• Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment such as flow cytometers, centrifuges, microscopes (light and fluorescence), ELISA readers, PCR and real-time PCR instruments, and biosafety cabinets.
• Perform and interpret various virologic and immunologic assays, including viral culture, purification, titration, nucleic acid isolation, PCR techniques, flow cytometry, magnetic bead sorting, fluorescence microscopy, and ELISA.
• Adapt and develop experimental methodologies tailored to specific research needs.
• Maintain meticulous and organized experimental records, and compose clear protocols.
• Follow laboratory safety protocols for handling and disposing of chemicals, radioactive materials, biohazards, and related waste.
• Possess skills or experience in computational programming, large learning models, and neural networks (preferred).
• Work independently, demonstrating initiative and follow-through from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Exhibit strong organizational skills and flexibility to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while conducting lab management and active research.

Education and Additional Criteria

• Preferably hold a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related fields; or have equivalent training and experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background verification is required for continued employment.
• Evidence of COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations is necessary.
• Physical ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Work Schedule and Union

The role operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position is covered by the RX-Research Support Professionals labor union.
