Currently, there is an exciting fixed-term or secondment vacancy for a Paediatric Nurse at the Highland Children’s Unit's Paediatric Day Case Unit in Raigmore Hospital until April 2027.

Unit Details

The Paediatric Day Case Unit is a six-bed facility providing care for children aged 0 to 16 years. It supports day-case surgeries across specialties such as paediatric general surgery, urology, ENT, orthopaedics, dental, and plastic surgery. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The team also manages various outpatient clinics, including phlebotomy, pre-assessment, and allergy skin prick tests.

Role Description

As a Paediatric Nurse, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, family-centered care throughout the child's day-case journey. Responsibilities include clinical assessments, preparing patients for procedures, recovery monitoring, and providing families with information and reassurance. Candidates must hold a Degree or Diploma in Children's Nursing and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the Children's Nursing specialty. Part-time working hours will be considered.
