Position Overview

An exciting permanent opportunity has become available for a Staff Nurse at the Central Clinic in Kilmarnock. This role requires working 21.6 hours per week with a work week reduction planned for NHS Scotland staff effective from April 1, 2026 (full-time hours decreasing from 37 to 36 hours, prorated for part-time staff) without any loss in earnings.

Key Responsibilities

• Support efficient delivery of the childhood vaccination program for children under five across all GP practices within East Ayrshire.
• Engage with the School Nursing Service to manage priority health pathways, particularly addressing the emotional wellbeing needs of school-aged children.
• Collaborate effectively within a large multidisciplinary team to promote child wellbeing.

Essential Requirements

• Registered Nurse Level 1 qualification.
• Possession of a UK driving licence is mandatory.
• A degree in Nursing, Health Studies, or a related discipline is desirable along with evidence of further professional development.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to enhancing health outcomes for children.
