Description de l'emploi
Role overview
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is hiring experienced registered nurses to join the inpatient CAMHS service at Hopewood Hospital in Sherwood, Nottingham. The service spans 32 beds across three wards and also includes an on-site education facility, a CAMHS community base with specialist teams, and both inpatient and community perinatal teams.
The opportunity is open across Hercules Ward, Phoenix Ward, and Pegasus Ward, with all newly appointed staff nurses rotating between the wards as part of their service induction.
Ward information
Hercules Ward is an 8-bed psychiatric intensive care unit for young people with severe and enduring mental health needs. The ward works closely with families and a full multidisciplinary team, and staff are encouraged to take part in both group sessions and one-to-one work.
Phoenix Ward is a busy 12-bed acute ward delivering highly specialist support seven days a week for young people aged 13 to 18 who are facing a variety of mental health and emotional challenges. The ward has a large MDT and strong scope for a broad range of therapeutic input.
Pegasus Ward is a specialist eating disorder service. Family-based treatment is central to recovery, so families and carers are closely involved; staff may contribute to family work as well as individual and group sessions with young people.
Main purpose of the role
The staff nurse will hold an important clinical position within an established multidisciplinary team. The post requires proven experience supporting people with mental health difficulties and working with carers or families in an acute setting.
Key duties and expectations
- Provide direct nursing care to young people with complex mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and the wider MDT to support positive outcomes.
- Take part in therapeutic group work and individual sessions.
- Contribute to family-based interventions where relevant, particularly within the eating disorder pathway.
- Support safeguarding processes and apply them appropriately in practice.
- Assess and manage clinical and behavioural risk confidently.
- Use strong communication and leadership skills in day-to-day nursing care.
- Rotate across Hercules, Phoenix, and Pegasus Wards during induction.
