Staff Accountant

About the Role

AGE STEEL is hiring a meticulous and well-organized Staff Accountant for its Dubai office. This full-time position involves managing routine financial activity, keeping ledger entries accurate, and supporting compliance requirements linked to local free zone authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee everyday accounting transactions, including petty cash handling, recording local purchases, and processing utility payments.
• Prepare and post monthly payment vouchers and journal vouchers, and make sure monthly provisions are recorded correctly.
• Track goods in transit and maintain clear records for inventory and cost allocation.
• Enter monthly service invoices and follow up with debtors to help secure timely collection of overdue amounts.
• Reconcile statements and portal records for JAFZA, DMCC, and the Chamber of Commerce to maintain accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Support the finance team with account-related work and ad hoc reporting when needed.

Qualifications and Skills

The role calls for a candidate with a formal accounting background, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to day-to-day finance operations. The ideal person should be comfortable working with accounting software, Excel, and external parties involved in receivables and compliance.

Additional Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Commerce is required.
• Prior accounting experience of 2 to 4 years is needed.
• Hands-on familiarity with UAE free zone portals, especially JAFZA and DMCC, is highly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting software are essential.
• Excellent numerical precision, strong organization, and professional communication skills are important, particularly for debtor follow-up.
