Description de l'emploi

Role overview

This opportunity is being shared on behalf of a partner employer, which handles all applications and subsequent hiring steps. The hiring company is seeking a Senior People Operations Manager located in the United States.

This is a practical, high-trust People Operations position focused on building and running the employee experience for a rapidly growing distributed team. You will oversee the employee journey from onboarding to exit, making sure HR processes are clear, compliant, and consistent. As the operational lead for People functions, you will work closely with outside HR partners while owning employee support, documentation, and workflows internally. The role calls for sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to combine process design with hands-on execution in a changing environment. You will also help strengthen remote culture, employee engagement, and support systems for managers. This role gives you the chance to directly shape how employees experience the organization while creating scalable People Operations infrastructure.

Key accountabilities

  • Take ownership of People Operations workflows across the full employee lifecycle and keep improving them, including onboarding, role changes, leave management, and offboarding.
  • Act as the main internal point of contact for external HR/PEO partners, making sure payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee changes are handled accurately.
  • Run onboarding programs end to end and ensure new hires in a remote setting receive a structured, engaging introduction.
  • Keep HR systems, employee files, process documentation, SOPs, workflows, and internal policy materials accurate and up to date.
  • Handle employee relations intake, recordkeeping, and support for investigations, and escalate complex or sensitive issues when needed.
  • Administer and monitor leave of absence and accommodation processes while coordinating employee communication with external providers.
  • Support HR compliance for a multi-state workforce, including policy revisions, mandatory notices, and training-tracking requirements.
  • Assist with employment verification and clearance-related workflows while protecting confidentiality and maintaining accurate records.
  • Work with leadership to enhance employee experience, remote culture initiatives, engagement programs, and internal communications.
  • Spot operational gaps and introduce scalable improvements to People Operations systems and processes.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or managing employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience running HR processes for remote teams and/or multi-state workforces.
  • Practical experience working with a PEO, CPEO, or external provider for HR, payroll, or benefits.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. employment compliance basics and standard HR practices.
  • Background supporting employee relations work, documentation, and other sensitive HR matters.
  • Experience coordinating leave administration and workplace accommodation processes.
  • Ability to stay effective in fast-moving, high-growth, or startup environments.
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage several sensitive workflows at the same time.
  • Excellent judgment, confidentiality, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred background: 7-10+ years of HR experience, exposure to startup or regulated environments, and HR credentials such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or an equivalent certification.

Benefits

  • Compensation that is competitive and aligned with experience and scope.
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Remote-first setup anywhere in the United States.
  • Opportunity to design and expand People Operations in a high-growth company.
  • Direct influence on employee experience, engagement, and culture.
  • Close partnership with leadership, external HR providers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to complex HR operations in a distributed, fast-changing environment.
  • Professional growth opportunities in People Operations and HR leadership paths.
