About the Role and Company

The Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) organization, operating within Corporate Engineering and Continuous Improvement, focuses on delivering new and renovated capital assets worldwide, particularly supporting medical innovation and strengthening pharmaceutical supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale programs managing capital assets worth $1 billion USD or more, ensuring delivery from initial planning stages through to operational readiness, across both Brownfield and Greenfield sites.
- Manage diverse teams composed of internal Lilly staff and external contractors to achieve project goals safely, on schedule, within budget, and upholding quality standards.
- Maintain effective communication and leadership from a regional hub, coordinating with GFD leadership, project teams, governance bodies, and stakeholders to facilitate issue resolution and manage scope changes.
- Apply structured and disciplined project management practices in adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and enforce safety and environmental plans throughout project lifecycles, ensuring compliance by all personnel involved.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a closely related discipline relevant to project management.
- At least 10 years of experience managing capital projects within industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Exposure to managing large-scale Greenfield projects.
- Flexibility to travel across Europe for extended assignments.
- Experience handling projects or portfolios valued at $1 billion or more.
- Previous work in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Capital project management expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing areas such as Bulk API, sterile production, secondary packaging, medical devices, and laboratory projects.
Preferred Additional Experience and Skills
- Knowledge in GMP manufacturing, LEAN methodologies, automation, construction management, quality control, project scheduling, safety, and engineering disciplines.
- Capability to deliver results through influencing team members without direct administrative control.
- Adept at remote leadership with minimal supervision, exercising sound decision-making and keeping management informed on critical issues.
- Proficient communication abilities both written and oral.
- Familiarity with one or more foreign languages.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and leading change initiatives.
