Role Overview

The Spray Painter is accountable for surface preparation and applying paint or protective coatings using spray equipment to attain superior finishes. This position demands meticulous attention to details, expertise in various painting methodologies, and adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming prior to painting.
• Accurately mix paint, coatings, and thinners as per formulation guidelines.
• Operate and upkeep spray painting equipment and associated tools.
• Apply paint, primers, and protective coatings uniformly with spray guns.
• Examine painted areas for quality and uniformity, performing necessary touch-ups.
• Clean and maintain spray guns, paint booths, and equipment after use.
• Observe safety regulations and consistently utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Manage safe handling and storage of paints, chemicals, and supplies.
• Ensure a tidy and orderly workspace.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or quality concerns to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications

• Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 to 2 years of practical experience as a Spray Painter in sectors such as automotive, industrial, furniture, or construction.
• Proficient understanding of surface preparation, paint mixing, and spray painting techniques.
• Competence in using spray guns, compressors, and related painting apparatus.
• Strong focus on detail and color matching abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Physical fitness to endure prolonged standing and to handle lifting materials as necessary.
