Specialty Coffee Barista

Role overview

We are looking for a skilled specialty coffee barista to craft high-quality espresso drinks, manual brews, cold coffee beverages, and house signatures while keeping every cup consistent in taste, presentation, and standard.

What you will do

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, cold brews, and signature creations, following set recipes.
• Keep beverage quality consistent across orders by controlling extraction, taste, and presentation.
• Use, monitor, and care for coffee equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
• Fine-tune espresso by adjusting grind size, dose, and extraction settings as required.
• Build strong knowledge of coffee beans, growing regions, roast levels, and tasting notes.
• Welcome guests, explain menu options, and suggest drinks based on customer preferences.
• Provide a polished café experience through attentive and friendly service.
• Keep the coffee station, tools, and surrounding service areas clean and hygienic.
• Carry out opening and closing routines, including setup, calibration, and cleaning.
• Track inventory for beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and flag low stock.
• Help increase sales by recommending beverages, pastries, and seasonal specialties.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements.
• Assist with training junior baristas on core beverage preparation and service practices.
• Stay informed about modern specialty coffee methods, trends, and equipment updates.

What we are looking for

• Hands-on background as a barista in a specialty coffee shop or a premium café.
• Solid understanding of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and manual brewing techniques.
• Knowledge of coffee origins, roasting styles, and how flavor develops.
• Ability to handle and maintain professional coffee equipment.
• Strong guest service and communication abilities.
• Genuine interest in specialty coffee and a sharp eye for detail.
• Comfort working in a busy, high-pressure, high-volume setting.
• Basic numeracy and familiarity with POS systems.
• Availability for rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Work environment

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sharjah, Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
