Job description
Role Summary
Exim Bank Tanzania is recruiting a skilled professional for the role of Specialist - Cloud Infrastructure based in Dar es Salaam. This full-time position reports to the Manager of IT Infrastructure and focuses on managing and optimizing the bank's cloud and IT infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, security, and business continuity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and support Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, hybrid cloud environments, and Exchange services both online and on-premises.
- Oversee Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, SCCM, and identity management services.
- Automate daily operations through PowerShell scripting, Azure CLI, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Maintain virtualization systems, server hardware, storage solutions, backup processes, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor performance, availability, capacity, and security of cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
- Implement and manage infrastructure security measures, patching, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.
- Support infrastructure migrations, upgrades, automation projects, and technology refresh cycles.
- Apply system patches, firmware updates, and security fixes based on assessments.
- Resolve cloud and on-premises infrastructure incidents within defined service levels.
- Manage licensing, subscriptions, and renewals for IT infrastructure systems.
- Coordinate backup and recovery operations to ensure uninterrupted business functions.
- Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support for infrastructure-related incident and problem management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology or Management Information Systems.
- At least three years of experience administering enterprise-grade Microsoft IT infrastructure.
- Proven hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration, PowerShell scripting, virtualization platforms, and enterprise storage solutions.
- Experience managing hybrid cloud environments effectively.
- Mandatory possession of relevant Microsoft certifications, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in cloud infrastructure platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Exchange Online, and AWS.
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft enterprise technologies including Active Directory, SCCM, and related infrastructure components.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation using tools like GitHub, Terraform, and RedHat Ansible.
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware, Oracle Linux KVM, and Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of SAN storage hardware and software, particularly NetApp solutions.
- Solid grasp of networking principles and configurations.
- Additional advantage: skills with RedHat Satellite, OpenShift, and RedHat certification.
- Excellent customer service orientation, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and effective communication skills.
Work Schedule and Location
Working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for additional hours depending on workload. The position is located onsite in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
