Description de l'emploi
About the Company
The company is building a collaborative AI workspace that brings together knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools in a single environment so teams can work with more clarity, speed, and less fragmentation. Its platform is used by millions of individuals, small teams, and large organizations.
Employees are expected to be early users of the product and to help shape the future of work through attention to craft, durable engineering, and a belief that meaningful work remains deeply human. The focus is not simply on shipping features, but on setting a high bar for how people collaborate in the AI era—whether that means creating a company’s system of record, enabling AI agents, or removing repetitive busy work so customers have more time for important work.
Role Overview
As a software engineer in this new graduate AI role, you will help build core experiences and improve how users discover value in the product. The work involves solving important problems with growing independence, writing code that reaches a very large audience, making sound technical choices, and contributing your perspective to product direction. You will collaborate closely with design, product, and data partners to influence how people work in the future.
This position is centered on AI-powered product development, using large language models, embeddings, and related technologies to make the platform more intelligent and capable. Based on team alignment and business needs, the role may be placed in one of several AI-focused areas.
Potential Team Areas
- AI product engineering: building end-to-end model-driven features, including user experience, APIs, retrieval, orchestration, quality, and reliability.
- Model and systems engineering: improving integration and performance of models by working on latency, cost, safety, robustness, and the infrastructure that supports serving and experimentation.
- Evaluation and quality: designing evaluation systems and automated or human-reviewed testing methods to measure and improve product and model quality.
What You Will Do
- Work with your team to prototype and release an AI-based product improvement.
- Take ownership of a focused production project such as introducing a new model or technique into an existing workflow, adding monitoring and safeguards, or improving latency, cost, or reliability.
- Help build and refine evaluation loops by creating or expanding evaluation sets, running experiments, studying outcomes, and turning insights into product or system changes.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, with the ability to begin full-time work before July 27, 2026.
- Prior internship experience.
- Progress toward fluency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, React, Python, or similar.
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to build and prototype quickly, with some exposure to AI/ML through classes, projects, internships, or hackathons.
- Comfort working across product layers such as user interfaces, APIs, and data, along with basic familiarity with relational databases like Postgres or MySQL.
- Strong problem-solving habits, including the ability to break down ambiguous work into smaller pieces and improve solutions iteratively.
- Clear written and verbal communication, plus confidence collaborating with teammates and cross-functional partners.
- Product and user focus, with an understanding of how decisions affect outcomes for a large audience.
Preferred Background
- Exposure to part of the technology stack such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, or Postgres.
- Enjoyment in building software for personal use or for others.
- Interest in the relationship between technology and society and the responsibilities that come with building technology.
- Familiarity with computing pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay, and an appreciation for their contributions.
Compensation and Benefits
The employer offers competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. Pay is determined by several factors, including location, scope of the position, and the candidate’s experience and expertise. For roles based in San Francisco and New York, the estimated base salary range is $126,000 to $146,000 per year.
Application and Policy Notes
Submitting an application means you acknowledge that the employer and its affiliates will collect and process your information according to its recruiting privacy policy.
AI Philosophy
The team expects employees to be curious, experimental, and enthusiastic about using AI as a practical collaborator in day-to-day work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement; when that is the case, it will be clearly stated in the qualifications. People who succeed here tend to use AI to think more effectively and to produce work that others can build on.
Equal Opportunity and Accommodations
The employer welcomes applicants from many backgrounds and encourages people to apply even if they do not match every requirement. It is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on any legally protected characteristic. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records may be considered in line with applicable law.
