Role Overview
The Site Supervisor will manage daily operations at construction sites based in Ottawa, Ontario. This onsite, contract position entails supervising subcontractors and site personnel, overseeing adherence to quality, safety, and project schedules. Responsibilities include reviewing project plans, maintaining site documentation, and communicating with project managers, clients, and inspectors. The role emphasizes enforcing health and safety protocols, addressing site issues promptly, and ensuring the worksite remains organized and clean.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience overseeing industrial, commercial, or institutional construction sites.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contractual documents.
- Strong planning and organizational competencies to coordinate various trades effectively.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to direct team members and liaise with stakeholders.
- Experience with site reporting, progress monitoring, and basic use of construction management tools.
- Possession of valid safety certifications such as WHMIS, fall protection, and first aid, complemented by a commitment to workplace safety.
- Capability to work continuously onsite in Ottawa under diverse weather and active construction conditions.
- Experience in institutional construction projects is advantageous.
- Preferably holds post-secondary education or trade credentials in construction, civil engineering, or related disciplines.
