About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 main contractor in Dublin, focusing on railway and roadworks civil infrastructure projects across Ireland. This position offers competitive compensation with a comprehensive benefits package and a chance to engage with long-term framework contracts on high-profile infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and establish site works aligning with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct site surveys, levelling tasks, and quality control inspections throughout construction to ensure precision.
- Supervise daily site activities, guaranteeing safety, efficiency, and adherence to project schedules.
- Coordinate with Site Agents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to streamline construction efforts.
- Maintain detailed and accurate site documentation, including daily reports, quality assurance records, as-built documentation, and materials tracking.
- Evaluate construction drawings and technical designs, identifying any discrepancies or technical challenges.
- Support planning and coordination of labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) standards and company protocols.
- Assist in quality assurance by facilitating inspections, tests, and managing handover documents.
- Track progress against project timelines and help resolve site engineering and construction issues.
- Engage with clients, consultants, and utilities providers as needed for project facilitation.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring high workmanship standards and site safety.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field is essential.
- Minimum of three years' experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure project environments.
- Hands-on experience with roads, highways, utilities, earthworks, drainage, or transportation infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency with site setting out tools such as GPS and Total Stations.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance processes and site documentation requirements.
- Well-versed in health and safety legislation as well as HSQE standards.
- Outstanding communication and organisational skills that foster effective teamwork.
- Possession of a full clean Irish or EU driving licence is mandatory.
- Legally authorized to work in Ireland.
