About the Role

As a Shift Leader at Tesco’s Richmond Express store in Londonderry, you will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience. This position involves managing the store team during shifts to ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, and customer-focused. Hours will be scheduled within specific availability windows—Sunday 13:30 to 22:30, Monday 06:00 to 15:00, Wednesday 06:00 to 15:00, Friday 13:30 to 22:30, and Saturday 13:30 to 22:30—with three weeks' notice provided. Tesco guarantees a minimum of 16 hours weekly, with opportunities for fewer hours down to 12 if preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the team in running shifts efficiently in a dynamic retail setting.
• Coordinate daily priorities, ensuring the store meets cleanliness, presentation, and stocking standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service, responding to customer needs and enhancing their shopping journey.
• Support and coach colleagues, foster a positive, inclusive team environment, and maintain safety standards.
• Open and close the store; act as the primary point of contact in managers’ absence.
• Monitor store performance and contribute to continuous improvements and operational simplification.
• Organize participation in seasonal, community, and charity events alongside management.
